1. Our approach
This policy explains how [legal entity name: to be confirmed], doing business as TechniCollege, handles personal information of people in the United States. [Where the business is based, and which federal and state privacy laws apply to us (for example, state consumer privacy laws) are to be confirmed with a US attorney. This policy must be reviewed before enrollment opens.]

3. How we use and disclose information
We use personal information for the purposes above and for purposes you would reasonably expect, or where the law requires or allows it. We do not sell personal information.
We disclose personal information to service providers who help us run the business, under contracts that limit how they may use it:
- website hosting and content delivery: [provider: to be confirmed]
- payment processing: [provider: to be confirmed]
- course and video hosting: [provider: to be confirmed]
- email delivery: [provider: to be confirmed]
- web fonts: Google Fonts (receives your IP address when the page loads its fonts)
- analytics and advertising (only with your permission): Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta Pixel, if and when we use them
- professional advisers, and authorities where the law requires
4. Where information is stored
Our service providers may store or process personal information in the United States and in other countries where they operate [list to be confirmed against actual providers]. We take reasonable steps to make sure they protect it.
5. Direct marketing
We send marketing emails only if you have opted in. The opt-in box is unchecked by default and separate from accepting our terms. Every marketing email identifies us and contains an unsubscribe link, and we act on unsubscribe requests within 5 business days. We keep a suppression list so that we do not email you again after you unsubscribe. Service messages about your purchase (receipts, access, important course changes) are not marketing.
6. Security
We protect personal information with measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, restricted administrator access with multi-factor authentication, access logging, and service providers with recognized security practices. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password and tell us straight away if you think your account has been misused.
7. Data breaches
If we become aware of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will assess it promptly, contain it, and notify you and any authority as required by the data breach notification laws that apply.
8. How long we keep information
| Record | Retention |
|---|---|
| Account and course progress | While your access lasts, then up to 24 months so you can renew, unless you ask us to delete it sooner |
| Orders, payments and receipts | As long as tax and accounting laws require [period to be confirmed with a tax adviser] |
| Support messages and complaints | Up to 24 months after the matter is closed |
| Marketing suppression list | Email address only, kept so we can keep honoring your unsubscribe |
| Security and access logs | Up to 12 months |
When we no longer need information, we delete or de-identify it securely.
9. Your choices and rights
You can ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to delete your account. Contact [privacy email: to be confirmed]. We will confirm your identity using the email address on your account, respond within 30 days, and explain any reason we cannot do what you ask (for example, records we must keep by law). There is no charge. Depending on the state you live in, you may have additional privacy rights. [State-specific rights and how to exercise them: to be confirmed with a US attorney.]
10. Automated decisions
We do not make decisions that significantly affect you using only automated processing. Our systems may automatically flag unusual account activity (such as many simultaneous logins) for a person to review.
11. Children
Our courses are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from people under 18.
12. Complaints
If you have a privacy complaint, contact us first at [privacy email: to be confirmed]. We will acknowledge it within 5 business days and aim to resolve it within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can contact your state attorney general or the Federal Trade Commission.
13. Changes
We will update this policy when our practices change and show the new version and date at the top of this page.
