Terms and Conditions
Draft for review. This document has not yet been reviewed by a US attorney and is not legal advice. Details shown as “to be confirmed” will be completed before enrollment opens.
1. About these terms
These terms apply between you and [legal entity name: to be confirmed], doing business as TechniCollege (“we”, “us”), when you buy or use a course through our US website. Please also read our Privacy Policy, Refund and Cancellation Policy, Course Access Policy, Digital Content License and Course Safety and US Requirements notice, which form part of these terms.
You accept these terms by checking the acceptance box at checkout. We record the version you accepted and the date.
2. Your legal rights
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under consumer protection laws that cannot lawfully be waived. [Consumer-rights wording to be drafted with a US attorney before enrollment opens.]
3. What the course is and isn't
- The course is private training in aluminum pergola fabrication and installation, delivered online as pre-recorded video lessons, written explanations and narrated presentations.
- It is not accredited, it is not recognized by any state or federal agency, and it does not lead to a qualification, certification or contractor license in any state.
- Any certificate of completion we issue is an independent TechniCollege certificate only.
- The course was developed outside the United States. It does not teach US building codes, wind or snow load design or structural design, and it is not engineering, legal or permit advice.
- We do not promise any job, income, business result or license outcome.
4. Eligibility and your account
You must be 18 or older to buy a course. You must give accurate details and keep your login secure. Your account is for you only. See the Course Access Policy.
5. Prices and payment
Prices are shown in US dollars (USD). Payment is taken by our payment provider on its secure page; we do not see or store your full card number. Your enrollment is confirmed only after the payment provider confirms payment to us. [Whether sales tax applies, and how it is shown, is to be confirmed with a tax adviser before enrollment opens.] See Payments, Pricing and Tax.
6. Access
We sell one product in the United States: the TechniCollege Professional Aluminum Pergola Training, a digital-only online course. No physical goods are supplied. Online access begins once payment is confirmed and lasts 12 months, and includes any new content added during that period. Access is personal, for one person on one device. Renewal is explained in the Course Access Policy. Tools, materials and the optional mentoring service are not included in the course price; mentoring is a separate, optional service with its own price and terms, added to an order only when you select it at checkout.
7. Changes to the course
We may update lessons to improve them or correct errors. We will not remove material parts of the course you paid for during your access period. If we have to make a change that significantly reduces what you paid for, we will tell you and you may cancel and receive a proportionate refund.
8. Using the content
Your use of course content is governed by the Digital Content License and our Intellectual Property Policy. In short: you may watch the lessons and use what you learn in your own work, but you may not copy, record, share or resell the content.
9. Safety and your responsibility on real jobs
Building work carries real risks. You are responsible for working safely, for holding any license, insurance and registration required, for obtaining any building permits and approvals, and for having each structure designed or checked by a suitably qualified professional where required. Please read the Course Safety and US Requirements notice.
10. Our liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from building work you or others carry out, because how and where you apply the course is outside our control. This does not limit our liability for our own negligence or any liability that cannot lawfully be limited. [Limitation-of-liability wording to be reviewed by a US attorney.]
11. Suspending or ending access
We may suspend or end access if you seriously breach these terms (for example, by sharing your login or redistributing course content). Except where there is a risk of serious harm or unlawful conduct, we will first contact you, explain the issue and give you a reasonable chance to fix it.
12. Marketing
Accepting these terms does not sign you up to marketing. We send marketing emails only if you separately opt in, and every marketing message includes a working unsubscribe link. We will still send you service messages about your purchase and course access.
13. Complaints
Please contact us first so we can try to fix the problem. See Complaints and Dispute Resolution. You can also contact the consumer protection office of your state attorney general.
14. Governing law
[Governing law, venue and any dispute-resolution clause: to be settled by a US attorney.] Whatever law is chosen, it will not remove protections you have under laws that cannot lawfully be waived.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms for future purchases. The version you accepted at checkout continues to apply to that purchase unless a change is required by law or is to your benefit.
